Koh Rong, Cambodia

Koh Rong is Cambodia's second-largest island, lying in the Gulf of Thailand off the coast of Sihanoukville with approximately 4,000 residents across several coastal villages. Originally populated by small fishing communities, the island developed into a primary tropical destination during the 2010s. Over 43 kilometres of white sand beaches line the coastline, including Long Set Beach and Sok San Beach. Dense rainforest covers the interior, providing jungle hiking trails between remote bays and coastal coves. Visitors travel by ferry from the mainland to explore calm turquoise waters, night-blooming bioluminescent plankton, and relaxed island settlements.
