Guča, Serbia

Guča is a small town in western Serbia's Lučani municipality, surrounded by the Dragačevo mountains and home to roughly 1,700 permanent residents. Established in the 19th century, the settlement gained global recognition in 1961 with the founding of the Guča Trumpet Festival. Every August, hundreds of thousands of visitors travel to the town as Serbia's top brass bands compete for the Golden Trumpet award. The local Museum of Trumpet displays historic instruments, traditional folk costumes, and archive photographs of Balkan brass culture. Visitors experience authentic Serbian hospitality, open-air spit-roast feasts, and round-the-clock brass performances along central streets during festival season.
