Walking in ROTTERDAM / Netherlands 🇳🇱

City Tour (2019)

Rotterdam is the second largest city (after Amsterdam) in the Netherlands. Rotterdam located in the province of South-Holland and known for its port. The port of Rotterdam is Europe’s busiest by cargo tonnage.

The city was rebuilt from the 1950s through the 1990s and has a modern image with more highrise buildings compared to the rest of the Netherlands.

We start our tour near the train station Rotterdam Centraal at the Kruisplein. We walk toward the city center which is a bit quiet already early in the evening (June 2019). From the Coolsingel we wlk ove to the Koopgoot Shopping Street. There in the city center we see a view churches like the Sint-Laurenskerk.

There is a big ferries wheel (SkyView Rotterdam) at the Grote Markt yet we head towards the Oudehaven to finally see some water.

We walk along the Wijnhaven and make a round Hogeschool and Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences area.

At last we see more of the waterways of Rotterdam walking along the Leuvehaven until the Willemsplein with a great view of the Erasmus Bridge (Erasmusbrug), where we end our evening tour.
