BERLIN, Germany 🇩🇪 - Walk on the Eastside - 4K 60fps
Description
We are in Berlin / Germany, the capital and largest city of the country. With a population of over 3.8 million Berlin is now also the European Unions most populous city.
Here on POPtravel we walked several times through Berlin. This time we start at the central Alexanderplatz in the eastern part with its iconic TV tower. This 368m-tall tower was opened in 1969, with a viewing gallery at 203m and revolving restaurant at 207m.
We walk along "Unter den Linden", get to the Berlin Cathedral (Berliner Dom) with the Lustgarten & Altes Museum. There are plenty of museums on the "Museumsinsel". We pass the German Historical Museum (Deutsches Historisches Museum) on our way to the Berlin State Opera / Bebelplatz. It's a short way towards the Gendarmenmarkt with French Cathedralh.
Our tour continues towards the old Berlin wall where we see the Checkpoint Charlie, the best-known Berlin Wall crossing point between East Berlin and West Berlin during the Cold War. Nearby we visit the open-air part of the museum Museum Topography of Terror (Topographie des Terrors) and head towards the Potsdamer Platz.
The Potsdamer Platz, is the new traffic and business centre of Berlin. From there we get to the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe which is mostly closed on this day.
We are back in the center as we see one of the main sights with the Brandenburg Gate (Brandenburger Tor) and end our hour-long tour at the Reichstag Building (Reichstagsgebäude).
Note: The video colors are a bit flat as this is one of the first videos with the DJI Pocket 2. It's best to overexpose with the current firmware. For visitors it's also a good idea is to see the Bundeskanzleramt / Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus across the Spree river behind the Reichstag which may be the starting point of another tour sometime.
