Welcome to Sibiu, Romania!
Sibiu is a nicely walkable Transylvanian city where medieval streets still follow their 12th-century origins. Founded by German Saxons, it was once the wealthiest fortified settlement in the region.
Join us as we cross between the Upper and Lower towns through ancient towers and stone stairways.
Starting in Piața Mare (the Great Square), we’ll meet the famous "eyes" on the rooftops and explore 800 years of living history.
We’ll pass the massive Lutheran Cathedral spire and walk alongside the original fortress walls. Our route visits the Byzantine beauty of the Holy Trinity Cathedral before descending to the Lower Town for iconic red-roof views.
Finally, we loop back through the Council Tower to return to the heart of the city.
