Pattaya, Thailand
Pattaya is a coastal city in Chonburi Province on the eastern Gulf of Thailand, home to around 120,000 registered residents 150 kilometers southeast of Bangkok. Evolving from a small fishing village in the 1960s into a major resort destination, it stretches along a 15-kilometer coastline. Highlighting traditional craftsmanship, the Sanctuary of Truth stands as an all-wood 105-meter-tall teak structure decorated with hand-carved mythological figures. The Pattaya Floating Market showcases traditional wooden boat vendors across four sections representing regional Thai culture. Visitors take ferry boats to Koh Larn island, stroll the Beach Road promenade, and visit the hilltop Buddha at Wat Phra Yai.
