Rosenheim, Germany

Rosenheim is a city of roughly 64,000 residents on the Inn river in Upper Bavaria, about 60 kilometres southeast of Munich, and was first documented in 1234. From 1600 to 1900 it served as a key stop on the Inn salt route running from Salzburg. The 1857 Rosenheim station became a junction on the 1858 Munich to Salzburg railway line, and the 1910 Lokschuppen, an 1895 railway engine shed, now hosts major touring exhibitions each year. The 1450 Saint Nicholas Church rises with a 60-metre spire, and the 1979 Stadtmuseum Rosenheim documents Inn valley folklore, while the Bavarian Film Studios' 1970s series "Zur Freiheit" was set here.
