Golden Sands, Bulgaria

Golden Sands operates as a major seaside resort town on the northern Bulgarian Black Sea coast, 17 kilometres north of Varna. Developed primarily since 1957, the town maintains a year-round population under 1,000 that expands dramatically with summer tourism. The resort features a four-kilometre strip of fine golden sand backed by the forested slopes of Golden Sands Nature Park. Nearby attractions include the medieval Aladzha Cave Monastery, carved directly into limestone cliffs just inland from the shoreline. Visitors enjoy water sports along the Black Sea waterfront, resort promenades, and shaded hiking paths through the protected forest reserve.
