Shkodër, Albania

Shkodër is the cultural capital of northern Albania with 135,000 residents, situated near Lake Shkodra near the Montenegrin border. Dominated by the Rozafa Fortress perched 130 metres high above the Buna and Drin rivers, the city is famous for stone architecture and bicycle culture. A city walk passes the historic Ebu Beker Mosque and pedestrian lanes lined with Venetian-style townhouses.
