Hanau, Germany, is a city located in the state of Hesse, near Frankfurt am main. Hanau is known for being the birthplace of the famous Brothers Grimm, Jacob and Wilhelm, who were pioneers in collecting and publishing folklore.

The city of Hanau was significantly affected during World War II, leading to the rebuilding of many of its historical buildings. We see some of the newly build architecture as we start our tour at the Brothers Grimm National Monument in the city center. Our tour goes all around the city center towards the Schlossgarten and eventually back to our starting point. We gain a good impression of this non-touristic city in the Frankfurt area which we visited several times here on the channel.
