We are in Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal. Lisbon is located on the western coast of the country, facing the Atlantic Ocean. The city of Lisbon is known for its hilly terrain and historic neighborhoods, while having a Mediterranean climate, with mild, rainy winters and warm, dry summers.

On this rainy winter day we are starting our walking tour at the Cais das Colunas overlooking the Tagus. We are quickly on the Praça do Comércio, a grand riverside square that serves as a symbolic entrance to the city.

We get to the Arco da Rua Augusta and walk along this important walking street also seeing the Elevador de Santa Justa . We get up to the higher areas and even to the Castelo de S. Jorge before returning to the city center, its squares and several churches. We are ending our tour at the Praça Luís de Camões.
