Sibenik, Croatia, is a historic city on the Adriatic coast. Sibenik is often overlooked by tourists for more popular destinations like Zadar and Split. Sibenik lies between these two places and known for its medieval heart, stone streets, and historic churches. Sibenik’s Old Town has several cafes and shops while still being less crowded.
On our tour start with a view of the sea. We first get to the the Old Town, with many narrow alleys going up and down. We walk in and out of the old town to end up at around 36 minutes at the Cathedral of St. James. This cathedral is a UNESCO World Heritage site, famous for its Renaissance architecture.
For our continued accent we learn that Sibenik also has four fortresses: St. Michael’s, St. John’s, St. Nicholas, and Barone. The St. Michael’s Fortress is in the old town so we are walking all around and end up there, ending our tour with a view of the city.
