Oradea is a city in northwest Romania with the Crișul Repede River running through it. Oradea is known for baroque and art nouveau architecture, remnants of the Austro-Hungarian empire. In fact Oradea is one of the most significant Art Nouveau cities in Europe. Nowadays Oradea is an important cultural and economic hub, with a rich history that goes back to Roman times.
We start our walking tour at the neoclassical State Theater - Teatrul Regina Maria on King Ferdinand Square. Next we cross the river, walk into the city center and its main square Piața Unirii. There we see sights like Statuia Regelui Ferdinand and the Black Eagle Palace (Palatul Vulturul Negru).
Our tour continues throughout the city along Strada Avram Iancu before we return to our starting point.
