Cinque Terre / Italy (meaning “Five Lands”) is one of the most colorful collection of villages on the Italian Riviera coastline. These centuries-old villages each have their own charm and are well connected by a train line today. With colorful houses on steep terraces, cute little harbors it is a popular location from tourists all over the world.
We visit “quattro” 4 of the “cinque” (5) villages as we skip the Corniglia a bit away from the coast. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Our video starts in the most popular Riomaggiore, continues with a walk through Manarola, a quick stroll through Vernazza and finally all around Monterosso.
Note: In reality we visited the villages in reverse order (Monterosso first) to catch the sunset time in the most picturesque Riomaggiore. The tunnel walk from the train station to the town center there in Riomaggiore is sped up to save some monotonous minutes.
