Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad) is a spa town in the Czech Republic. Located in western Bohemia, Karlovy Vary has numerous thermal springs which made it a popular resort since the 19th century. The Czech liqueur Becherovka is also produced there and the Karlovarské oplatky (Carlsbad wafers) originated in the city in 1867.
