Alicante is a city on Spain’s Costa Blanca. With plenty of sunshine at the Mediterranean coast it is also a favourite among tourists during summer thanks to the beaches and nightlfe.

We are in Alicante during the winter (February 2020) and start our walk in the modern part of the city at the Plaza de los Luceros / Plaça dels Estels.

First we walk around the residential shopping district with several department stores, eventually heading to the Alacant Terminal west of the centre. The old town, Barrio de la Santa Cruz, is in the East from
20:20 as we walk down to the marina.

We pass the casino and check out the view of the Mediterranean as we get to the beach “Playa del Postiguet”. The Pasarela del Postiguet is an interesting winding bridge leading up to the old town. There in the Barri Vell - Santa Creu we stroll around the colorful houses for a while as the carnival is starting. We end our tour at the Concatedral d’Alacant Sant Nicolau de Bari.
