George Town on the Malaysian island of Penang is a place of tradition and heritage. Once it was an important Straits of Malacca trading hub. With its Chinese shophouses, British colonial buildings, and mosques it is a photogenic destination being also famous for its food.
We walked to the Clan Jetties Of Penang ( https://youtu.be/Drk63kz4dLs in April 2019 ) and are now walking back to the city. The Jetties are a traditional village of rustic houses on stilts over the water and popular with tourists.
When we reach the Armenian Street area we see some more murals that Georgetown is famous for as well as the Art Lane from Victoria Street. On this hot and humid afternoon we stroll around Armenian Street more, being the touristic hotspot of Georgetown / Penang.
Our tour heads further north through the old town and into more modern areas. Around the Kimberly Street Nightmarket shops and fodd stalls open up now. We reach the Prangin Mall where also bus companies are located and check the area around Jalan Penang.
We walk to the busy Chulia Street and end our walk at Love Lane, where we started our first walking tour of Penang.
