Walking in VALLETTA / Malta πŸ‡²πŸ‡Ή

Valletta is the capital city of Malta. The city was one of earliest sites listed by UNESCO as World Heritage.

The city was named after Jean Parisot de Valette, a French nobleman. With the foundation in 1566 the Knights of St John created a baroque city which is lively today and the main tourist attraction of the island.

We arrive for our tour from Sliema by ferry. From the waterfront we walk up to the city where we explore many of the streets of Valetta. We pass the St Paul’s Pro-Cathedral and explore the centre of the city with St George’s Square and St. John’s Co-Cathedral, one of the main sights of Valletta.

The Lower Barrakka Gardens and Siege Bell War Memorial have a nice view towards the other cities of Malta across the water.

We make it up to the Upper Barrakka Gardens and finally walk out of the city to the Valletta City Gate and Triton Fountain where we end this tour.
