Walking in HEIDELBERG / Germany 🇩🇪

Old Town to Philosophers Path

The university city Heidelberg in southwest Germany has a large student population with a nice old town and castle. We walked through the city here https://youtu.be/Xq79kGuXpH4 and go for a different route this time.

On this evening tour we start south of the city at the wall. We pass the Peterskirche and head into the old city centre with the University library and Universitätsplatz.

We see the Zeughaus-Mensa where Students eat and hang out on this warm evening in summer. From there the tour continues through the streets of Heidelberg, checks the Stadthalle and later the lively old town centre with sights around the Hauptstraße. There we visit the Heidelberger Marktplatz with the Church of the Holy Spirit (Heiliggeistkirche).

For the last part of this walking tour we head to the other side of the Neckar river. Via the Snakepath (Schlangenweg) we reach the Philosophers Path (Philosophenpfad) uphill. Huffing and puffing we can enjoy the nice view over Heidelberg ending this walk.
