Novi Sad (Нови Сад) is a city in northern Serbia. Nicely located at the Danube River it has a walkable centre and the hilltop Petrovaradin Fortress which dates to the 17th and 18th century.
We start our walk in the city center on the Trg Slobode with “The Name of Mary Church” (Serbian and Croatian: Crkva imena Marijinog). Our round goes through the old town where we eventually go East towards the Danube through the Danube’s Park (Дунавски парк).
We cross the Danube via the Vardinski bridge. The sunset is close so we walk up to the Petrovaradin Fortress with its iconic clock tower for a nice view over Novi Sad and end this walk.
