Walking in MALACCA / Malaysia πŸ‡²πŸ‡Ύ

Evening tour around Jonker & Temple Street

Malacca City (also spelled Melaka) in Malaysia has a preserved colonial town center, which makes it a popular tourist destination in the country. Both Portuguese and Dutch left buildings in in the city.

We are starting our walk at a little Dutch windmill near the Red Square with the Stadthuys. We join the lively nightmarket at the Jonker Street (official name Jalan Hang Jebat) which is the touristic focus of most vistors. This time we also see the Jalan Tokong (Malay for β€œTemple Street”) where several religions built sites of worship. It is more relaxing there and also interesting to see.

We exit at the end of Jonker Street and walk back during sunset through the now busy night market. Food and souvenirs on offer so end this walk were we started: at the Stadthuys.
