Salzburg in Austria is famous for being the birthplace of Mozart. Located at the Salzach River the famous movie “The Sound of Music” shows a lot of this iconic city.
Our walk starts a bit further away outside of the old town at the Parish Church St. Andrä. We cross the street to Mirabell Palace and have a look inside and around. This 17th century palace is a good place to enjoy some relaxing time with the ornamental gardens.
We make our way to South and cross to the other side of the city over to Salzach river via the Staatsbrücke. There we can explore the old town with its many small streets and arcades.
There is lots to see like the Salzburg Cathedral and Mozart’s Birthplace. We stroll around, see the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Salzburg and several squares on this cloudy afternoon.
For a view over this nice town we head up a few stairs called “Clemens-Holzmeister-Stiege” where we end this one hour walk.
