This sunny Saturday we walk in the city of Mainz. The location at Rhine and the Main river gave it a trade importance, yet it was the Mainzer Johannes Gutenberg which influenced Europe and beyond with his invention of the movable-type printing press.
We start the walk at the central train station and walk towards the Old Town. There we see the busy farmer’s market around the Mainzer Dom. In the Rhine area much of the German wine is produced and many people enjoy this sunny day in spring with a drink.
The walk continues and goes back to the train station for a full hour experiencing this city between Frankfurt and Wiesbaden.
